7 MEET THE ARTISTS "I am honoured to create art that respects the traditions of my ancestors from the Naikun Raven clan on Haida Gwaii." Corey Bulpitt Haida "My art tells women's stories, showcasing the beauty and creativity of life." Sharifah Marsden Anishinaabe Nahaan is an interdisciplinary creator of expression perpetuating his family's Tlingit culture through sobriety, language facilitation, and leadership. He helped revive traditional tattoo culture on the Pacific Northwest Coast and is a movement oriented activist. Nahaan is the first of his family to be born outside of Alaska and raised in Seattle. Nahaan Tlingit "I am a proud member of Lac Seul First Nation, Treaty Three Territory. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba but currently reside in Red Lake, Ontario. My work is influenced by Ojibwe Florals and the nature around me." Art has always been communicated as an expression of spirit that is connected to people and ways of life."
